It's not every day that a bride and groom AND their guests are willing to stand out in the rain.
Lauren and Griffen's sweet family and guests didn't let the rain dampen their spirits one bit! When the only dry option for portraits was a small, dim overhang that had little of the 'wow factor' that the couple had hoped for in their photos, they cheerfully held umbrellas and dodged raindrops. The result was lots of laughter, beautiful photos, and a crowd of damp-but-happy people cheering Lauren and Griffen on.
Now for the surprise: a few days before their wedding, Lauren and Griffen donned their wedding outfits and met up with me to photograph on a little mountaintop near Atlanta. It was definitely a new experience for me - and I've photographed nearly 200 weddings! We got the most dreamy golden hour and sunset photos and ended up with two sets of very unique portraits. Plus, because we already had magical photos, Lauren and Griffen were able to relax on their wedding day and slow down during portrait time, instead of stressing over the rain!
If you and your fiancé are game to get dressed up twice and you love the idea of having a more relaxed schedule on your wedding day (while still having tons of gorgeous portraits), I highly recommend scheduling a pre-wedding (or post-wedding) portrait session!
