You will rarely meet people as sweet and genuine as Loren and Caleb.

That thought runs through my head at least once every time I photograph their family. We fought tooth and nail for this session, with everything from multiple rounds of sickness to scheduling conflicts determined to get in the way. When the day of Loren and Caleb's session finally rolled around, a surprise storm popped up mere hours before we were due to meet, threatening to prevent it from happening yet again.

Thankfully, the rain stopped and the clouds cleared, leaving our location lush and slightly misty, with dreamy post-shower sunlight. (Did the rain bring more than a few mosquitos and did we all forget bug repellant? Maybe. But now you know the reason why there will forever be a giant can of mosquito repellant in my car.)

Despite the bugs and inaccurate weather forecast, I loved getting to see Loren, Caleb, and their two sweet girls. Their oldest, B is as talkative and friendly as her mama, with all the enthusiasm that a four year old can bring to the table. Little C is a bit more reserved - at least until it's time to jump and play! Watching Caleb and Loren with their girls, who they so obviously adore, brings all the emotions. My two kiddos are far past the 'littles' stage and, while I love seeing them grow, a small part of me misses the little fingers and sleepy snuggles.

So I'll sit on the couch, squished between my two not-so-little girls, looking through the photos I took of them when they were so-very-little girls, and feel incredibly grateful that I have been blessed with the opportunity to photograph those same moments for another mama.
