Have I mentioned how much I love when a couple I've known for ages comes to ask me to photograph their wedding?
It is such a huge blessing and an amazing honor! It feels like the last couple of years have been filled with people I know and love joining the ranks of my #ShanleCouples!
I've known Luke since he and I were kiddos and I was pumped when he announced his engagement to Micah! These two sweethearts met at Freed-Hardeman University, where they both attend for graphic design - and when I say sweethearts, I mean sweethearts!
Micah and I chatted back and forth a few times over text while we worked out the details of their engagement session at McFarland Park in Florence, AL, but we had never had the chance to meet in person before. Imagine my delight when she and Luke got out of their car and she came up and gave me the biggest hug! (I love hugs!)
Over the years, Luke has grown from a sweet, giggly kid into a kind, big-hearted gentleman, the type who deserves an amazing, sweet woman like Micah. I was so happy to see them treat each other with such respect and teasing affection!
Despite the evening starting out overcast and a bit chilly, with a biting wind, these two were cheerful and upbeat the entire time. Thankfully, towards the end of their session the sun peeked out from behind the clouds to warm our cold fingers and the wind gave up and died to a soft breeze! Overall, this session was a blast and I can't wait to photograph their wedding!
