This is another one of those times where I find myself pausing in wonder: I've gotten to photograph this moment, the one that so often goes undocumented by photos, full of joy and nervous excitement.
These joyful moments, these turning points in your life - there is nothing like it.
Do fairytales exist in real life? Maybe, maybe not, but I'm pretty sure that spending any amount of time around Hannah and Andrew could convince you that they do. During the time that we spent coordinating outfits and locations for their couple's session, she happened to mention that they had been discussing getting engaged at some point in the coming year. Little did she know, Andrew had already reached out to me with his plans to propose during the session!
I think I was at least half as nervous as Andrew during the first half of their session. 'What if I miss the cue? What if Andrew misses the cue?!?' Thankfully, neither of us missed it and Andrew deserves a medal for how quickly and smoothly he went down on one knee. Hannah was quite literally speechless - it was the most perfect, storybook proposal!
I remember many of these kinds of moments in my own life, as I'm certain you do as well. The memories are faded and softened by time, but the feeling is still there - the day my own husband asked me to marry him or the first time I held each of my daughters in my arms and the world stopped for a breath. And I marvel and am grateful each time that the Lord has blesses me with the opportunity to document one of those moments in someone else's life.
